Tailor-made journeys through the Himalaya · Est. 2003
The peaks of snow mountains on bright mornings part the dense clouds and soar into the skies. Beneath, like a world submerged, lies a lost kingdom — opened to travellers only in the last decades. Part fantasy, part reality, Ladakh is where the forces of nature conspired to render a landscape of extremes.
We've spent over two decades crafting tailor-made journeys through its monasteries, valleys and high passes. So let's do something remarkable.
Get In TouchFor nearly 900 years, from the middle of the 10th century, Ladakh was an independent kingdom, its ruling dynasties descending from the kings of old Tibet. It reached its greatest glory in the early 17th century under King Singge Namgyal, whose domain extended across Spiti and western Tibet to the sacred sites of Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.
Rich traditions of Mahayana Buddhism still flourish here in their purest form — a region so often called Little Tibet. Even the Indian traveller finds little that is familiar in the land and people they encounter beyond the passes.
Monasteries, palaces and villages where ancestral custom and intense spirituality still shape daily life.
High passes and glacier valleys, guided by specialists with intimate destination knowledge.
Masked dance-dramas in monastery courtyards, timed to the great Hemis and Losar celebrations.
Travel with an experienced guide throughout, on itineraries built with the same care as our private journeys.
Backed by strong credentials, with an aim to develop a strong team and create a variety of programmes for the discerning traveller to India.
